The plot doesn't really follow either novels it's an alternate reality. Hard to tell from just teaser videos, though.Īnd. it looks to be more of an action game than an RPG. I won't mind watching some youtube videos, but eh. Massive timeskips and RPGs simply do not sound appealing to me at all. Regardless, if it follows the plot of Aincrad I doubt I would ever play the game. Though I wonder how they plan to incorporate additional heroine routes like Silica and Lisbeth if they are also going to include ALO. but if she came to Aincrad wouldn't she look like her normal self? Well, I suppose blonde Leafa is more popular than raven haired Sugu, Idk. Assuming that Aincrad still uses their 'IRL image' than it makes perfect sense.Īnd does this game include ALO as well? With the inclusion of Leafa, I assume so. After looking at the novel illustration from LN Vol.5 (), those ribbons seem to match up perfectly with Sinon's hairstyle. Scratch my question about the girl falling from the sky and ~56-57s in. The Uncharted trilogy has dang good grahpics, but like many action and shooter games, the games aren't very long. So if SAO: Infinity Moment has solid and engaging gameplay, we'll forget about the graphics soon enough.I definitely don't argue with that in fact I could live with less graphics in games considering that a lot of action games tend to sacrifice game length for looking prettier. Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 proved that you don't need cutting edge next-gen graphics if you have solid gameplay. Of course, we have yet to see exactly how open-environment Infinity Moment actually is, but it doesn't look limited at least. RPGs like Infinity Moment though take much more planning and game programming because of the open-area nature of the game environemnt and the high level of customization that you don't have in fighting or straight action games. Usually these types of games are straight action or fighting style games (Black Cat, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Iron Man, Captain America), because those are cheaper to make since their playing style is generally limited. The former almost never gets as big a budget as the latter, but SAO Infinity Moment is definitely one of the higher-budgeted milking games I've seen. Of course, that was also chosen to keep the budget in check.Yeah, I'm not saying the graphics are a bad thing really you just have games made to milk money from money-making series/movies, and then you have games that are actually the money makers. Well, granted, this is on the PSP, which is not exactly a powerhouse (and is already one generation behind). I'm not sure if it'll be able to stand on its own as a really great RPG, but it should still be fun for fans of the franchise. No date has been announced yet, but I would guess we'll see it in early 2013. Yui was also mentioned as a character, but I'm not sure if she'll have any direct role. Confirmed "playable" characters include Silica, Lisbeth, and Asuna (playable in the sense that they can join your party - I don't think you actually control any character even in battle except Kirito). Because it's an alternate scenario/retelling, various encounters/interactions that didn't happen in the original story will be possible in the game. It's an original story that takes place in Aincrad that branches off from Episode 13 of the anime on Floor 75, and will cover up to Floor 100. I assume that your skill points will recharge during this period, and when the other person's skill points run out you'll switch back. You have a certain amount of skill points in your battle turn (to use sword skills), and then you can switch out and the partner takes over while you can only use defensive skills (like parrying, side step, etc.). From what I can gather, most of the battles will occur in parties of two. The gameplay seems much like a normal action RPG (you can customize your equipment, skills, etc.), and they've preserved the sword skills and "switch" mechanic from the original story. There's a five-page spread in the recent Dengeki G's magazine that gives some details about the game.
